So, part of the move of Monster Manor and H.S. Wolfe out of Itch.io involved the creation of this forum, so we can host events and dashes (formerly known as jams). But I've been working for a while on a book database, a kind of merge between AO3's filter and tag system and Goodreads, but it has been very much the kind of hobby project you touch once in never and never really leaves the development stage.
The recent events with Itch.io's censorship of NSFW and queer materials inspired and motivated me to pick it back up, but with a few changes.
Bookery is going to be a marketplace for indie books, operating on a system similar to Itch.io's: you sign up, upload your work and start selling. The infrastructure will be built around reader and author's experiences, both from me and Ceilaghan, as well as from friends in the community, so that readers can find their favourite indie stories and self-published people can gather under one umbrella marketplace. And of course, the database will be built to facilitate finding the exact story you want to read, down to filtering out content warnings, must-have tags, genre, length and price.
