Hello. Achilles, he/they, author, menace. I don't formally offer editing anywhere online, but I technically do the thing when the need arises. As such, I am offering services to you folks. Please note at this time I can only accept pieces 15k or under.

Rates
Copyediting - $1/100 words, rounded up: Copyediting is a very basic edit which involves looking for typos, spelling errors, punctuation, sentence fragments, minor rewording, and other elements of English spelling and grammar. This also looks at consistency in your piece, but does not include external fact checking. I offer no major changes to sentence structure or comprehension/readability advice.
Rates are rounded up to the nearest 100 words. eg. 5,257 words - $53; 10,000 words - $100; etc.
Readability Editing - $2/100 words, rounded up: Readability editing focuses on making a piece easy to read and understand with good flow. It includes basic spelling and grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and flagging of sentence fragments. It also includes consistency checks, rewording suggestions, and comments and suggestions for areas which are confusing, extraneous, or require more development.
Rates are rounded up to the nearest 100 words. eg. 5,257 words - $106; 10,000 words - $200; etc.
Sensitivity Read - N/A: I mention this because it's one of my credits, but I am not offering sensitivity reads to the public at this time.

Have an old draft of a completed piece? I offer two page test edits free of charge to see if we mesh. Engagement for a project will include a formal quote with a contract including project scope, project cost, legal items, and a termination clause which includes remuneration expectations for partial projects.
Please note:
- I require two weeks to perform edits.
- I offer discounts for projects over 5k which are m/m, projects about physical disability, or projects about and/or written by BIPOC.
- I reserve the right to refuse any job without a signed contract without cause or notice.
- As much as I would love to guarantee a completely error-free edit, I can't do that. While my edits will be error-free, I can not promise I won't miss something. If you choose to engage me, you do so knowing there may be small errors remaining.
